2020 Chicago Auto Show: Top 3 Family Vehicle Reveals

Chicago's Auto Show is a show catering to all types of car lovers; from trucks to sports cars, there is something to satiate every car lover.

Whether you live in Chicago or are traveling here for a short time, there are a few Chicago car events that should not be missed. The Auto Show Chicago is one of them, and with this year's showcase of exciting new designs, there are several exciting new and improved designs circulating the motor vehicle marketplace.

The Chicago Auto Show is dubbed the Nation's Largest Auto Show, and it is the most popular of the Chicago car events. While it may not be as glamorous as other car shows in Las Vegas or Geneva, the Auto Show Chicago displays a diverse range of cars, whether it’s sports cars, dream cars, or concept cars. The auto show is becoming a popular platform for emerging car brands to showcase their latest designs. Visitors can enjoy a wide choice variety, and enjoy the show while they are at it.

Are Chicago car events typically as dazzling as the rest of the shows on the annual calendar? Certainly not, but it certainly packs a punch with its impressive display of vehicles.

What Did The Chicago Auto Show Have On Offer This Year?

2020's auto show in Chicago showcased debuts for new vehicles, updated practical designs, and exciting new reveals.

Here are three of this year's most exciting vehicles showcased at this year's auto show Chicago.

2020 Mercedes-Benz Weekender Camper Van

This van from Mercedes Benz is something new for the car enthusiasts. Although not altogether surprising since camper vans are a trending topic, it was an exciting reveal for the company.

The camper van is named the Metris Weekender. Although it may not be as luxurious and designed with as much panache as the European market's Marco Polo campervan, the new Weekender is perfect for those Instagrammable cross country couple trips or just your average American camper holiday. It sleeps four, has a pullout kitchen, and an 8-foot awning; what more could a person want?

2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

The Auto Show in Chicago may be more renowned for the array of trucks on display, but that didn't prevent Hyundai from showcasing the 2021 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.

This vehicle may be a hybrid, but the EPA's estimates place the mpg delivery at 54 mpg - the same as the Toyota Camry Hybrid. So, what's the difference between the two hybrids? Well, the Camry is less modern - on both look and feel. The Sonata is also more technologically advanced, as it offers a solar roof panel that adds an extra 3 miles to the driving range each day.

According to Hyundai, the Sonata Hybrid surpasses both the Accord and the Camry in road noise and acceleration.

2021 Chrysler Pacifica

Is a minivan a sexy vehicle? No, certainly not. It is, however, a vehicle that offers value for money.

Most Americans accept Chrysler as the king of minivans, whether for the Stow ‘n Go seats or the comfortable and spacious interior.

However, SUV's are often the chosen vehicle because of the all-wheel-drive capability. With Chrysler, the tendencies are usually to design with the Stow ‘n Go facilities, or with the all-wheel-drive capability - but both? Unfortunately, that is an uncommon occurrence.

With the 2021 Pacifica, Chrysler has changed the game a bit. The refreshed and renewed design offers both AWD and the Stow ‘n Go feature, without making compromises on other design features.

The show runs for two weeks, usually in February, and garners a sea of people from all over the country. Whether a person's preference is a large motor home, a family SUV or a new sports car, there is something for everyone.

Don't miss out on 2021's motor show, as designers have had plenty of indoor time, cooped up in homes to come up with innovative designs for all types of vehicles, from sports cars to heavy-duty trucks and everything in-between.
